Day 4 Reflections - Phil Moore

I must say that I have gained an extreme respect for the Chinese culture. The pride that they take in their city’s appearance and the importance placed on the cleanliness of it is a far cry from what I have experienced in the states. Everyone is so gracious and polite that I almost feel like I’m home and with family for the holidays. For anyone that anticipates shopping in one of their many “markets” in Beijing, be aware that you have to anticipate an extreme level of friendliness. Everyone is your friend in the attempt to close the deal but beware the minute that deal is or isn’t closed your friendship is fleeting….so don’t take it personal and be ready to make your next BFF at the next shop.
